When parents begin searching for the right summer football camp, the first question usually revolves around skill development: Will my child get better? Will they be ready for the fall season? Those are important considerations, but the biggest impact often comes from something deeper: who is teaching them and what they’re learning beyond just plays and drills.
At Sports International Football Camps, we believe summer should be about growth in every sense of the word, physically, mentally, and even socially.
One of the biggest things parents should look for is the experience and credibility of the coaching staff. Young athletes benefit tremendously from learning under coaches who have competed, and succeeded, at the highest level. Our staff includes current and former NFL and College players and coaches who understand what it truly takes to excel.
One of the most meaningful things parents can look for in a football camp is the quality and experience of the coaching staff. A great camp doesn’t just teach technique, it inspires, challenges, and mentors athletes in a way that elevates their mindset. That’s why our program is built on a foundation of position-specific instruction led by current and former professional players and coaches, more than most any other camp in the nation. In fact, from 2011–2025, over 500 current and former pro players and coaches have instructed at Sports International programs, a level of professional involvement that’s unmatched in youth football.
Our camps have featured instruction from professionals such as A’Shawn Robinson of the Carolina Panthers, Kenneth Murray of the Dallas Cowboys, Super Bowl Champion Jarvis Green of the New England Patriots, and former NFL safety Chip Vaughn, who has also coached with the New York Jets and the United States Air Force Academy.

Learning from someone who has competed at the highest level, whether that’s the NFL or years of professional coaching, reshapes how young athletes understand the game. They don’t just learn what to do; they learn why it matters. They see how passion, discipline, preparation, and teamwork translate into success on and off the field.
Beyond just technique, the presence of pro players and veteran coaches brings a level of credibility and insight that can’t be replicated. Our campers work
with people who have lived the grind, the victories, and the challenges of high-level football, and who genuinely love passing that knowledge on to the next generation.
Every coach at our camps, from local high school instructors to pro veterans, goes through orientation before the season starts so they’re aligned with our focus on high-quality teaching and positive mentorship. That means your athlete isn’t just doing drills, they are engaging in intentional development with coaches who know how to get results.
In addition to elite coaching, parents should consider how a camp supports personal growth. The right program fosters confidence, leadership, resilience, and teamwork, traits that extend far beyond football. Campers return home not only stronger and more skilled, but more mature, motivated, and connected.

Summer break is an opportunity for athletes to step outside their comfort zones, build independence, and learn from peers and mentors alike. A structured, organized environment with experienced coaches ensures that every athlete receives the attention they need to progress.
So when you’re thinking about where your athlete should spend their summer, look beyond the schedule and the location. Think about the coaching staff, the learning environment, and the long-term benefits the experience can deliver.
If you’re looking for a camp experience that prioritizes both athletic development and personal growth, we’d love to have you join us this summer. Learn more about our camps.
