Get Ready for Camp: Your Final Checklist Before Arrival

Camp season is finally here, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to campus next week!

Our first camps of the summer are right around the corner:

🏈 Lance Smith Lineman Academy: June 10-12
🏈 Willie Parker Football Camp: June 12-14

Whether this is your athlete’s first overnight camp or they’re returning for another great summer, taking a few minutes to prepare now will help make check-in day smooth and stress-free.

1. Review Your Camp Information Packet

Before arriving on campus, take a few minutes to review your camp information packet. It contains important details regarding:

  • Check-in and check-out times
  • Dorm assignments and housing information
  • Daily schedules
  • What to bring
  • Camp rules and expectations
              • Emergency contact information

Having these details reviewed ahead of time helps campers and parents know exactly what to expect upon arrival.

2. Complete Any Remaining Forms

Please make sure all required paperwork has been submitted before camp begins. This includes:

  • Medical Clearance Form (Signed by a Doctor)
  • Concussion Form
  • Camp Waiver
  • Key Deposit (for our overnight campers)

Completing these items before arrival helps us speed up check-in and get campers on the field faster. You can find all forms HERE

3. Pack the Essentials

A successful camp experience starts with packing the right gear. We recommend bringing:

Football Equipment

  • Cleats
  • Athletic shoes
  • Equipment (Helmet and Shoulder pads for Lineman and All Positions Camps. Just helmet for Passing Camps)
  • Gloves (if preferred)

Personal Items (overnight campers)

  • Bedding for dorm rooms (Size of bed twin XL)
  • Pillow and blanket
  • Towels and toiletries
  • Shower shoes
  • Any necessary medications

Clothing

  • Multiple sets of athletic clothing
  • Extra socks
  • Comfortable clothes for evenings
  • Weather-appropriate gear

Remember to label important items whenever possible.

4. Stay Hydrated Before Camp

One of the best ways to prepare for camp starts several days before arrival.

Athletes should:

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the week
  • Get adequate sleep each night
  • Eat balanced meals
  • Avoid arriving dehydrated
  • Bring water bottle (we will have water stations set up at each practice field)

Proper hydration and rest can make a huge difference in performance and overall camp experience.

5. Arrive Ready to Learn

Our camps are designed to provide instruction, competition, and an unforgettable experience. Campers will have opportunities to:

  • Learn from experienced coaches
  • Improve position-specific skills
  • Compete against athletes from different schools and regions
  • Build confidence on and off the field
  • Create lasting memories and friendships

The athletes who get the most out of camp are the ones who arrive with a great attitude and a willingness to learn.

We Can’t Wait to See You!
