PLAYER PROFILE:
Carlton Davis is a cornerback for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. Carlton grew up in Miami, Florida and attended Miami Norland High School, where he excelled on the football field. He was one of the best high school recruits in the country as a Senior and ultimately committed to Auburn University after initially committing to Ohio State. As a true freshman at Auburn, Carlton was already one of the best defensive backs on the team and became an immediate starter. As a true freshman, he recorded 56 tackles and 3 interceptions! He followed up his freshman season by continuing to dominate as a sophomore and junior. Across his sophomore & junior seasons, he recorded a total of 82 tackles, 12 pass deflections, and 1 interception. After his junior season, Carlton declared for the 2018 NFL Draft. He would be drafted in the 2nd round (63rd overall) by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! He immediately became a huge piece of the Buccaneers secondary and earned playing time right away. As a Rookie, he started 12 games and recorded 40 tackles, 4 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble. He followed up his Rookie year with another solid year as a 2nd year player. However, he really broke out in his third season with the Buccaneers in 2020. During the 2020 season, Carlton started 14 games and recorded 68 tackles, 18 pass deflections, and 4 interceptions! He was a huge part of their 2020 Super Bowl Championship! After his tremendous 2020 season, Carlton continued to be the best cornerback on the Buccaneers for the next 3 years before being traded to the Detroit Lions before the 2024 NFL season. In 2024, Carlton was the shutdown cornerback the Lions needed and helped them win a franchise record 15 games! After another great season in 2024, Carlton became a free agent for the first time and signed a 3-year, $54 million contract with the New England Patriots. He'll continue to be a #1 cornerback with the up-start Patriots in 2025! In 7 seasons in the NFL, Carlton has recorded 380 tackles, 84 pass deflections, & 11 interceptions in 89 career games.
