Spotlight on Michael Pruzinsky
Wednesday, February 23, 2011

For this edition of SI Blitz we spotlight 1st year camper, Michael Pruzinsky. Michael plays running back and linebacker for the Winfield Cavaliers in Sykesville, Maryland. Last summer Michael attended the Mark Clayton Football Camp at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. For 2011 the camp will be headlined by Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, Derrick Mason.

One of the cool things about the camp at McDaniel College is that the school is also home to the Baltimore Ravens training camp. The campers get the unique opportunity to learn and practice in the same place the pros do. And there is also the opportunity to actually learn from the pros themselves. Michael says that, "it was pretty awesome to meet and learn from actual players!" He especially liked getting to meet Anquan Boldin at camp.

While its great to get to meet professional athletes, football players also come to camp so that they can improve and become a better player. The reason Michael wanted to come to camp was to improve his fundamentals and skills in football. And that's what he did. "Camp improved my fundamentals, speed, and agility. Learning ball security and running techniques was important to improving my playing ability and effectiveness on the field."

"All of the coaches were friendly, informative, and fun," says Michael. He took full advantage of all the coaches had to offer and was named Top Running Back for his age group at camp. But the impact of what he learned at camp didn't stop there. Last season he helped his team make it to the playoffs and was named Offensive Player of the Year for his team. "It looks like the coaches and the program works," said Michael's dad Steve.

Michael's future plans include continuing to improve his football skills and hopefully getting an athletic scholarship to a school such as Alabama or Georgia Tech. We look forward to seeing Michael at camp this coming summer.

"I love football and had a great time at Mark Clayton's camp.  I am looking forward to the next camp and the next football season."
