Football and Friendship
Tuesday, June 8, 2010

This month in Generation NEXT we feature camper John Eric Stevenson Jr. 2010 will be his fourth summer at the Jeremiah Trotter Football Camp and he is ready to improve his game even more. This year Stevenson played for the Rancocas Valley Patriots football team in Mount Holly, NJ. The team did well going 5-2 with John playing defensive tackle and fullback. He credits the agility training and defensive drills he went through at camp with improving his game this season.

And that was what led Stevenson to the Jeremiah Trotter Football Camp, he "wanted to develop my skills for the game and get the chance to learn from the best!" At camp he can get instruction from NFL players and learn the same techniques they learned at their respective teams. So far headliner Jeremiah Trotter has been John's favorite NFL player to come to camp. He says it's "the coolest" to learn from players that have and still do play on the professional level.

Stevenson said he loves everything about camp because he loves football. But it's not just what players learn on the field that keeps them coming back. It's the lasting memories and friendships that form. John has made friends from as far away as Texas while attending camp. Some of his favorite memories from his times at camp include playing games in the pool on our free time, eating pizza late night, and playing football on the front lawn at night. Who knows what this summer will hold and how many new friendships will be made.

One day John Stevenson would like to make it to the NFL. But he knows it's not just his playing on the field that will get him there. "It does not only take athletic ability, it takes great grades and hard work on and off the field." And these are the types of lessons that can be learned at the Jeremiah Trotter Football Camp.

"I would recommend any Sports International camp to anyone that loves the sport of football; it is a great atmosphere and learning camp. You will meet great players and new people/friends."
