Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Sports International is proud to announce the addition of a great football player to our 2011 camps. Brian Orakpo of the Washington Redskins will be headlining a football camp next summer.

Brian Orakpo was drafted 13th overall by the Washington Redskins in the 2009 draft. In his short time in the NFL he has already made quite a name for himself.

  • At the University of Texas, Orakpo recorded 132 tackles, 22 sacks, 38 tackles for loss, 62 pressures, six passes broken up, six forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
  • In his senior year as a Longhorn, Orakpo was a consensus first team All-America selection and won the Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player), the Hendricks Award (best defensive end) and Lombardi Award (best lineman or linebacker) and named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
  • On December 13, 2009 against the Oakland Raiders, Orakpo tied a Redskins record with four sacks in a game and was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
  • He finished his NFL rookie season with 50 total tackles and 11.0 sacks, matching Andre Carter for the team lead.
  • Orakpo was selected to the 2009 Pro Bowl, one of only 6 rookies to do so. He also became the first rookie Redskin to make the Pro Bowl since RB/KR Tony Green in 1978.

The Brian Orkapo Football Camp will be held June 26-29, 2011 at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. For more information visit our website.
