'PEOPLE' PICKS "THE 50 HOTTEST BACHELORS" 2005
JAMIE FOXX, USHER AND ORLANDO BLOOM TOP THE LIST
(New York) -- Who says a good man is hard to find? This week PEOPLE picks, for the sixth year, "The 50 Hottest Bachelors" in a special double issue. From a NASCAR driver (Carl Edwards), to a country singer (Keith Anderson) and a pop group (Il Divo), there's someone for everyone.
They're in a class by themselves and they're available -- what more could you ask for? This year PEOPLE picks, "The Fab Five" -- 2005's top Bachelors. Orlando Bloom, Colin Farrell, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx make the cut. Bachelor Usher reveals his formula for a successful date: "I love to shower a woman with flowers -- specifically gardenias -- during the day to add to the anticipation of the date, and to end the evening with dinner and dessert."
PEOPLE also names 12 Bachelors "Men of the Moment" -- including Hayden Christensen, Carson Daly, Jesse Metcalfe and Owen Wilson. These sexy stars are in the spotlight this year -- and out of this galaxy. "I never expected to be a bachelor at 41," says Bachelor John Stamos, whose divorce from Rebecca Romijn was finalized in March. His new dating code: Number of days to wait before calling: "There's a number of minutes that I wait. I think it's about four -- as I'm driving away. And she'll say, 'I just gave you my number!' And I'm like, 'I know. I wanted to talk to you!'"
Bachelor Wilmer Valderrama has been linked with Lindsay Lohan, Ashlee Simpson and Mandy Moore. Wilmer's Rules for Dating in the Public Eye include: 1) Behave: "I don't do anything I'd regret or that makes me wonder if someone is watching." 2) Avoid the "scene": He prefers California Pizza Kitchen, "away from the mayhem but fun -- and I love pizza." And 3) When you run into an ex, "there are no rules. You just go and mind your own business. I rarely leave my table the entire night. I'm really there for the people I'm with."
"I'm probably a little more confident than [his Scrubs character] J.D., but when you meet the right girl, everyone becomes a little bumbling," says Bachelor Zach Braff. "You just say really stupid things." His idea of a perfect date? "Paintball. Put her in some thermals and make her run."
"I'm shy in my personal life," says obsessive foodie, Ryan Seacrest, who once considered culinary school. "Some people meet people in the grocery store, but I get my tomatoes and I'm out." A savory date for Seacrest includes--Melted cheese: "One of my favorite things to cook is fondue. I'm Swiss. It's a great social meal." And mouthwash: "I always pack a mini bottle of Scope in the glove compartment. If I have Italian food, I'll use the Scope and then offer it to whomever I'm with. I'm obsessed with fresh breath."
