Ben Leber: 6’3”, 244lb OLB. Born December 7, 1978 in Council Bluffs, IA.

Career: Part of the NFL’s #1-ranked rushing defense for 4 straight seasons in 2005-08, helping the Vikings become the 1st NFL team to lead the league in rushing defense 3 straight years for the 1st time since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. Tied for Vikings sack lead in 2007 and matched career-high with 5. He is tied for 7th in career sacks by a Vikings LB with 9.5 and is tied for 4th in Vikings history for sacks by a LB in a season with 5. Set a Vikings record with the longest sack in team history by throwing Eli Manning for a 26-yard loss at NY Giants (11/25/07). He has notched 21.5 career sacks. Was part of the Vikings defense in 2007 that tied team record with 6 INT-return TDs and 8 overall defensive TDs. Joined the Vikings during 2006 offseason and helped the team’s overall defense climb from #21 in the NFL in 2005 to #8 in 2006, the 1st time the team has been in the top 10 in total defense since 1994. Played a large role in the Vikings defense breaking several team records, including fewest rushing yards allowed in a season (985), fewest rushing yards allowed in a game (-3 at Detroit, 12/10/06), fewest rushing attempts in a game (6 vs. Arizona, 11/26/06) and fewest rushing 1st downs for a season (53). The Vikings 985 rushing yards allowed ranks as the 2nd-lowest total in the NFL since the 1970 merger. He helped the Chargers rank #1 in the NFL against the run in 2005, allowing 84.3 yards per game. Stepped into starting lineup as a rookie and made an immediate impact, earning All-Rookie honors for the Chargers. Had a career-high 3 sacks of Texans QB David Carr on 9/15/02. His 3 sacks tied for the AFC single-game high in 2002, were the most by a rookie and tied Steelers’ Joey Porter for most by a LB. 2008: Tied for NFL lead with career-best 4 fumble recoveries. Tied the Vikings record for passes defensed by a LB with 12, matching the mark set by Matt Blair in 1981. Snared career-best 2 INTs on the season to tie for Vikings lead, grabbing a Kyle Orton pass vs. Chicago (11/30) in a Sunday Night Football contest and a Drew Brees attempt at New Orleans (10/6) on Monday Night Football. Ranked 4th on team and tied career-best with 88 tackles. 2007: Tied for Vikings lead with 5 sacks to match his career-best. He posted career-high 88 tackles and ranked 3rd among Vikings defenders. Had 1st career game with an interception and sack at Chicago (10/14) when he got both against Bears QB Brian Griese. His 5 sacks ranks as the 4th-best season by a Vikings LB in team history. Joined with fellow LB E.J. Henderson for 9.5 sacks, the 2nd-most sacks in team history by a LB duo, trailing Broderick Thomas (6.0) and Ed McDaniel (4.5) who combined for 10.5 in 1995.

2006: Bounced back from an ankle injury in 2005 to play in 15 games and start 10. He played a key role in the Vikings ranking #8 in the NFL in total defense, the 1st time since 1994 the team has ranked in the NFL’s top 10 in defense. Helped the team to a #1 ranking in rushing defense, holding opponents to 985 rushing yards on the season, a team record and the 2nd-lowest total in the NFL since the 1970 merger. Notched his 1st career INT and 1st career TD during the season. 2002-2005 with San Diego Chargers: Started 6 of the 9 games he played. Had 22 tackles, a pair of sacks and was 2nd among LBs with 4 tackles for loss. He had his season cut short by a foot injury that landed him on injured reserve. 2004: Started all 16 games and the Wild Card playoff vs. NY Jets. Helped the Chargers win the AFC West for the 1st time since 1994 and earn a playoff berth with a 12-4 regular season mark after going 4-12 in 2003. 2003: Ranked 4th on team with career-best 75 tackles, including 64 solos. Posted 3 sacks on the season to rank 4th on team. 2002: Burst onto the scene as a rookie, starting 14 of the 16 games he played. Earned All-Rookie notice from Pro Football Weekly and Football Digest. Led Chargers with 3 forced fumbles and ranked 3rd on team with 5 sacks. Earned 1st start in season opener at Cincinnati (9/8) and had a sack in the 34-6 win. Forced a pair of fumbles that were recovered for TDs by the Chargers.

Attended Kansas State University: Graduated with a degree in Business-General Management in 2002

A two-time All-Big 12 selection, he finished his college career with 216 tackles, 46 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks. His 216 career tackles were the fifth most in Kansas State history. As a junior, he earned second team all-conference honors. The year later, he was an All-America third-team selection by the Associated Press, a consensus All-Big 12 Conference first-team choice, and a team captain.

Attended Vermillion High School: Lining up primarily at running back, Leber was named to several high school All-America teams. As a junior, he rushed for 1,404 yards and 18 touchdowns, and notched 1,350 yards in his senior year. That season, he was declared a Parade Magazine All-America (the only South Dakotan so honored in 1997), an honorable mention All-USA by USA Today, and was selected to play in the North-South Dakota All-Star game. An excellent student, he was also an Academic All-State selection. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 3rd round of the 2002 draft.

	Among the many daily camp features you will participate in are daily instruction, lectures, and demonstrations on football fundamentals by BEN LEBER AND MEMBERS OF THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS.

	This is not an "autograph camp," just the best football camp in the USA! You will learn a lot of football while at camp. In addition, BEN LEBER AND MEMBERS OF THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS will be available to sign autographs!

AWARD CEREMONY


	An award ceremony will be held at the end of camp. The coaching staff will select the outstanding campers in each age group and awards will be presented (photos are allowed). During this ceremony the TOP 30 CLUB members will be announced (for ages 15 - 18 only). A detailed information packet on each TOP 30 CLUB member will be sent to over 1,500 college football coaches to help each player receive recognition at the college level

	Camp is a tremendous opportunity for a father and son to share something very precious and rare in today's society: time together! As a volunteer, you will receive housing, all you can eat meals, three (3) staff shirts, a football, and photo with the headliner of the camp you attend. You and your son (or players) will meet and become friends with the Pro, some of the top players in the NFL, and more importantly, you will share a week with your son (or players) that you will never forget.

To reserve a spot in camp today is easy! With only a $159.97 deposit, you can reserve a spot in camp! Sign up early and take advantage of our "Easy Payment Plan!" (four easy, monthly payments of $150 for overnight campers; $123 for commuter campers; payments will be prorated when beginning of installments is less than four months before the start of camp; a service and handling fee of $6 will be charged each time a credit card is used to make payments.) The total camp tuition for overnight campers is only $759.97 and $649.97 for commuter campers. (Lunch only is included in commuter tuition fee.) Enrollment is guaranteed only when all payments are made on time and/or after receipt of total tuition. As long as room is available, enrollment will be accepted with only a $159.97 deposit. The $159.97 deposit is not refundable. Enrollment is limited! Enroll today!

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY


	Pre-enrollment determines the number of staff hired and the number of campers guaranteed to the University. With this in mind, the $159.97 deposit is non-refundable for any reason. Any additional tuition paid is nonrefundable for any reason other than medical or if you have taken out cancellation insurance (see the application above). MEDICAL REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AFTER May 1st - NO EXCEPTIONS! Requests for medical refunds, less the non-refundable deposit of $159.97, must be in writing accompanied by a physician's letter of explanation prior to May 1. (If you register after May 1, there are no refunds for medical reasons.) CANCELLATION INSURANCE: In the unlikely event you may need to withdraw from camp, you may consider purchasing cancellation insurance from your personal insurance agent or you may purchase this coverage directly from Sports International when you register (see application). DEDUCTIONS: If you arrive late and/or leave early, there is no tuition deductions or discounts-No Exceptions.
